I am available for appointments in clinic at Sandy Bay one to two days a week as well as planning on re-opening in Kingston in early 2026.
If any of the following apply to you, please phone Reflexions to discuss whether a massage or reflexology treatment is suitable at this time.
Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment and in the process of relaxing, the body is then best placed to heal itself and deal with its imbalances. Reflexologists believe that the entire body and its organs are mapped in feet and hands and that gently applying pressure may help address imbalances.
Reflexologists cannot diagnose or directly treat conditions, but they do provide a gentle, non-invasive adjunct to medical treatments.
A reflexology treatment will leave you feeling relaxed, aid your circulatory systems, support sleep and help your body’s healing processes.
In Australia, massage therapists are required to have a Cert IV Massage Therapy to practice relaxation massage, and a Diploma Remedial Massage to practice as remedial massage therapists. Continuing education is also a requirement for professional association membership and health insurance coverage. To treat clients with cancer or a history of cancer, therapists should undertake additional and specialist training.
Although qualifications are not required for a person to claim to be a reflexologist, the Reflexology Association of Australia (RAoA) recognises trained professionals as those who have undertaken a Diploma of Reflexology and who maintain continuing professional development.
When booking in for a treatment, Reflexions recommends you always check that the qualifications of the person giving the treatment matches your requirements.
It’s best to leave eight weeks between the scar forming from injury or surgery and your first scar tissue release therapy – provided it has healed.
